Why blog?

In the summer of 2008, urged by my dear son Ilan, I started blogging. So far I have posted quite a few art pieces and some pieces of my mind.  (: I have to tell you…It has revolutionized my world…rocked my soul to the core. On it I mostly showcase my artwork and share the source of inspiration for the individual pieces. The blog grows in length and in depth, every few days when I add on a two-page spread to my digital visual journal. As it thrives, I have noticed I do too, in so many wondrous ways.

I am writing this to you because I feel I shouldn’t be selfish with this discovery of mine. I’d like to inspire you if I may, if you don’t already have a blog, to start one. There are countless benefits to keeping a blog..an online journal.

So here are just a few; It’s super easy to start one (if a complete right-brainer like me can do it..guess what?)..There are millions of bloggers on our planet and more millions who are interested in global exchange and, believe it or not, in what you have to say! There are like-minded friends to be found all over the world. (I discovered so many amazing artists out there) An unbelievable outlet for your creativity, whether it’s photographing, cooking, humor, writing, a hobby…or plain out telling the events of the day…you get the message. It takes you out of the jammed automated routine and brings you back to you, to what you used to be and what you wish to be..who you are now that doesn’t come out that spontaneously any more.

So please, explore the possibilities of creating your own blog..It’s worked wonders for me..it’s self-healing in a mysterious way..yet pure simple fun.

Yours, Orly

My thoughts exactely. I started mine in late July and I’m loving it. I’m meeting great people, exchanging feedback and ideas, discovering great artworks… Is so refreshing to catch up at the end of the day or just wander about..

Ya know, I’ve been a bit of a latecomer to technology and still resist because I love face to face contact and paper crafts that I can touch and create. I think your blog and your reason to blog may just be the inspiration and invitation I need to get going. Thanks, Orly. Can’t wait to meet you.
